Your Home Should Be Your Sanctuary.
Love your neighborhood but no longer love the feel or function of your home? Select Construction & Remodeling has been rebuilding Des Moines homes since 2017, led by owner Edgar Ramirez. A home is one of your largest investments and the place your family traditions begin, so our goal is a project that runs smoothly, exceeds expectations, and is even fun.

Recent Projects, in Our Clients' Words.
“We started with a tight budget and a big vision. Edgar and his team not only brought that vision to life — they exceeded it. When demolition revealed significant foundation cracks, Edgar worked with us to get the repairs handled correctly while still keeping us within our budget.”
“We had two bathrooms gutted and reconfigured, electrical work done in the basement and garage, some finish work in the basement, and storage shelves in the garage. Work was started a week earlier than expected.”
“Luis!!! Tiled my shower! Beautiful work! On time! Very neat too! Select Construction always communicated and was available anytime I had questions.”
“They have done several jobs for us and we have given referrals to several of our friends. Edgar is always prompt in taking your calls or calls you right back.”

What does Select Construction & Remodeling do?
We're a Des Moines general contractor handling interior and exterior remodels, home additions, kitchens, bathrooms and living rooms, covered patios and outdoor kitchens, roofing, siding and painting, and plumbing, electrical and HVAC, for residential, commercial and new-construction projects.
What areas do you serve?
Our Iowa office serves Des Moines and the surrounding metro. We also run a second office in Boise, Idaho. Call (515) 650-0800 for Iowa or (208) 572-9804 for Idaho, and we'll confirm your address is in our service area.
How do I get a quote?
Request an appointment online with a few details and photos of your project, or call the office. We'll confirm a time for a walkthrough, look at the space with you, and put together a custom quote for the work.
How fast will you get back to me?
You can contact us any time, and we respond within 24 hours on weekdays. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Do you handle plumbing, electrical and HVAC?
Yes. Plumbing, electrical and HVAC are part of our service list, so a kitchen, bath or basement remodel can be coordinated by one team instead of juggling separate trades.
Can you do work that isn't on your list?
Most likely. We specialize in custom work, so if you don't see your project listed, call or request a quote and describe what you have in mind.
How long has Select Construction been in business?
